Summer Learning Journey Week 1 - Activities 3

Activity 3: The WWF: World Wildlife Fund [10 points]
In 1961, a number of people came together to start an organisation called the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The main goal of this organisation was/is to protect life on earth. Hundreds of WWF staff work in countries all over the world trying to protect our planet and the animals who live here. To learn more about their amazing work, click on one of the two video links below.

Clip #2: Tigers


Once you have watched the video, go to your blog and, using full sentences, tell us:

1) The name of the animal the WWF is working to save.
The animal that the WWF is working to save is Seals because, it is the most endangered animal.
2) What the WWF is doing to help the animal.
The WWF is helping the animals by building a snow back for them to have protection.
3) What, if any, success they have had protecting the animal.
They have succeed to have some animals

    Did you enjoy watching the video clip on how the WWF workers have endeavoured to build snow banks for the freshwater seals? What was your favourite part of the clip and why?

    One of the interesting facts I found from watching this video is that 'pups' could also be used as a name for baby seals. It instantly reminds me of 'puppies' but I can sort of imagine baby seals looking as cute as a puppy. What do you think?

    If you didn't get a chance to watch the other video clip about saving tigers, you should definitely give it a go. Both videos have made me realise how important teamwork is when we're trying to make a big change. How did it make you feel and what did you learn from watching these videos?
